Novel Updates:
After Yeo-ju dies in an accident, she is reincarnated as a crow in a female-oriented (otome) game she played a long time ago. The first place she opened her eyes was in a forest, and she was afraid and terrified of the reality that she had to live as a crow in the future. Thinking that she needs to find someone to raise her, she searches for people and finds the wounded Crown Prince Karmeut. She hopes that the Crown Prince will take care and raise her later with utmost sincerity. She evades the orcs, brings him food, and finds some herbs to heal him…

Do you know how embarrassing it is when the blorbos from your shows are a group of people from your DnD campaign?
I can't stop thinking about these people that exist only in me and a handful of other peoples' minds who are going through a story we are telling together THAT NO ONE ELSE HAS EVER HEARD OF BECAUSE IT IS AN EXPERIENCE SHARED ONLY BETWEEN US

Every day I mourn the fact that Anders and Morrigan have never (and will never) interact in canon. I want to see what happens SO bad.
Morrigan who enjoys pissing people off and generally just pokes and prods at peoples insecurities versus Anders who has never taken a chill pill once in his life
They're sitting at a table together and Morrigan keeps saying shit about old magic and dark rituals and old gods while Anders is white knuckling his chair to keep himself from leaping over the table and strangling her

when the god was made in the image of a man who infiltrated the mind of said god and in doing so made himself intertwined with the form that god took while also being the cause of that form creating a infinite feedback loop of what caused the god and his creator to evoke the very image of the death the creator feared through the form of an animal representing that concept, and the god has faint, undeniably human characteristics given to him by his creator while his creator retained none of it. fuck
#slay the princess#quiet is absolutely a corvid in draconic packaging#but theres traits of him that cannot be detached from his construction to aid humanity#his hands and arms in particular. and his uncomfortably human teeth but mostly his hands and arms#bc his hands are very birdlike yes but the general anatomy is completely detached from anything that could be described#as avian or draconic#whereas the narrators almost completely played straight as a crow but with teeth#and its so specific and maybe im reading too much into it#but his teeth are extremely NOT human-like#the narrator is extremely not human even though he once was#did he give his humanity up in creation of the long quiet and the shifting mound?#in his last moments before he became countless echos did he put all of the humanity he had and give it to them#in order to make the long quiet understanding of the concept of mortality in an attempt to sway him on slaying the princess#and in order to make the princess capable of death just as humans are?#was it his own plot to save humanity through the creation of gods that he stripped himself of his own humanity and handed it to said gods#making them resemble living mortal humans far more than he ever could after he gave it to them?#was the gift of humanity that he gave the concept of reality in two distinct ways the exact reason why his plan failed?#why his giving of that gift came back to destroy the construct he created?#that in deciding it to be his duty to act effectively as a mortal god he gave up his own humanity#and made two gods that were more human than him?#anyway narrators got sharp teeth and is a bird except humanity is mentioned. so this man became a bird. metaphorically. after playing god#sorry you tried to destroy death and your creation and you too became symbols of it!#its only symbolically satisfying and fitting i hope you understand

I must admit it exhausts me a bit when people compare the interactions between the companions in da2 and veilguard and complain that the veilguard crew don't argue viciously enough or don't have enough fundamental unbridgeable ideological differences. like yeah it's almost like dragon age 2 is a game specifically about implacable human discord in all its forms and that's the theme the companions also build up under and provide a lens to look at. and perhaps. just maybe. veilguard is doing something different and also interesting thematically if you look at it for what it actually is, and its companions are playing into those themes instead (come become beside me my friend none of us have this figured out but at least we have each other along the way. you must struggle with who you are. despite the high high stakes on paper, veilguard (sometimes to its detriment, often to its advantage once you realize this is what it's doing) is really not that interested in outward conflict, between ideas or groups or individuals -- most of the real meat and potatoes is in the internal struggle of the characters with themselves and their identities, the ways they've been changed and also stay the same, it's weirdly deeply trans all the way to the depths of the narrative that way, as well as fundamentally being about trauma recovery. again, what you're ultimately fighting is not actually in the realm of elgar'nan and ghilan'nain at all, it's on the level of solas' despair and his regret over what he's done and who he's become).
tl;dr why are we pitting two bad bitches against each other etc. they're literally both pretty and I love them

I have so many cozy scenes for Kaela and Lucanis and even Spite.
Like Kaela reading adventure stories to Spite every night so that he doesn't move around too much and disturb Lucanis's sleep. The deal is that after at least an hour, but often more, Spite has to lay in bed quietly for Lucanis's sake.
Lucanis figuring it out, and coming to read Kaela stories when she inevitably gets sick from not getting enough rest herself. He reads until she falls asleep, then sits with her, resting while being nearby in case she wakes and needs anything.
The both of them cuddled on the sofa in the dining hall, reading to each other after dinner.
Her surprising him with cinnamon cookies, because she can't make churros but she DOES make really good cookies and having them ready when he wakes up from the mandatory nap she makes him take.
Him not meeting her at the eluvian after trips to places like Hossberg, but rather he goes directly to the baths (oh yeah, the lighthouse provided a Tevinter bath in the new basement to the dining hall) and preparing everything for her to scrub down then soak for an hour, so she can get all the blight and grime off and just relax while he and Bellara prepare dinner.
Her moving to another room in the lighthouse (with a real bed!) with windows for her but heavy drapes to block out the view of the Fade for him, so that he doesn't have to spend time with the meditation room's aquarium, which Kaela assumes would remind him and Spite too much of the Ossuary.
Lucanis making more and more trips to Kaela's new room at night, not officially moving in because he still feels most comfortable in the confined space of the pantry, but still spending enough time in her room that he may as well move in. Their relationship has eventually progressed by this point, but still most nights they just lay together until falling asleep, or reading to each other still.
Occasionally Spite still wakes up while Lucanis sleeps, but he and Kaela have their agreement now, where he stays calm and sits with her while she reads, or they play cards, or anything relaxing like that. She wonders at one point, can Spite read? If not, she finds a way to teach him, and then he joins in the tradition they've all developed of reading to one another in quiet, cozy moments.
Spite never becomes other than spite, he's given enough opportunity to live his role, but he gains more of the traditional traits of Determination and Affection in the progress, and he doesn't rail against the transition.
Ultimately, the time comes to leave the Lighthouse for good; Lucanis just can't push off the Crows any longer, and his responsibilities to them become more than he can manage from the Fade. They all move to Treviso, but not to the manor proper; a cottage on the grounds (if it could be called that--it's still more grand than Kaela's childhood home, which was not insignificant) is more appropriate for the intimate little life they've all built together.
They continue indefinitely while he leads the Crows, and she uses the eluvians to spend her days in Minrathous rebuilding the Shadow Dragons, this time with the official support of the Archon. Every night they both come home to their cottage, and read or play cards or other little games. Lucanis teaches Kaela to make churros, and she teaches him her mother's recipe for cinnamon cookies.
Their friends don't get to visit as often as they like, in spite of having eluvian access; they come for important dates and anniversaries though, including for a long-delayed wedding at the main Dellamorte manor.
